I’ve been using metal detectors for 30 + years.
I would suggest one of the entry level detectors from White’s Electronics.
I would avoid the junk they sell at walmart, radio shack, dick’s sporting goods etc.
White’s has local distributers that will walk you thru the learning curve.
I used to own White’s – I now own Minelab. Infact, if you saw the program about the lost anglo-saxon hoard that was just found, the detector they showed (White’s Spectrum) is exactly the same model that I sold to buy the Minelab detector.
