Do I need a headset? Shovel? Knife? What are the basic accessories I will need in addition to the metal detector itself?

Really, all you need is a tool to scoop up whatever you detect. I use an old french fry strainer for the sand. Most detectors have a speaker and a shovel or knife is unnecessary. Have fun.
